Interpretation & Meaning

Goldonda - a card of the Inclusive Oracle deck

No matter how far we come as a society, our love for sparkly things appears to be undying.

Before the written language or global economies or colonialism, someone in India dug through the dirtiest dirt and the earth lit up in shiny splendor. They named the flamboyant stones vajara (“thunderbolt”) as a reference to the god Indra and a testament to their mesmerizing nature.

From magical devices to economic currency, that first twinkle sparked an evolution of worth and meaning which led to the first diamond mines in the region of Golconda.

The diamonds extracted from this site quickly became a girl’s best friends, but the relationship between the miners and the “minees” was far more complex.

The journey from the depth of the earth to someone’s excited finger was made of long hours, excruciating labor and extreme danger. Despite its  connection to exploitation and colonialism, Golconda embodies a history of martyrial effort employed to achieve something precious.

When this card shows up in a reading, you might be standing at the entrance of your personal mine with your inner strength as pickaxe and no guarantee to make it out alive.

You’re facing a high stakes/high reward situation and it’s time to channel the hero in you: relying on your willpower, strength and resilience is the only way to make it out on top.

Golconda tells you loud and clear that this is no time for compromise: steamrolling your opponents and knocking down all obstacles might be the only way to win this war.

This card ensures success is possible if you push your boundaries to the limit, stop at nothing and fight for what you want.

Homework & Practice

In order to embody the teachings of this card, you can:

  • Practice manifestation and goal visualization: close your eyes and imagine yourself successful at the end of the journey you’re on. Try to summon that feeling of accomplishment as vividly as you can, let it fuel your fire and motivate you through whatever roadblock is currently standing between yourself and your goal.
  • Raise your standards: achieving success starts with demanding more of yourself and the people around you
  • Stop saying “should”, start saying “must”.
  • Purposely put yourself in situations where you have to face challenges. It doesn’t have to be insurmountable tasks: you can start building your confidence on small daily victories. Once you reach the peak of whatever hill you decide to climb, you can savor that feeling and start thinking about climbing a mountain.
  • Surround yourself with people who are ambitious and up for a challenge. You may feel inferior at times, but in the long run it will fuel a healthy competition that could serve you extremely well.
  • Remind yourself of the times in life when you faced a big, scary challenge. Remember how you doubted yourself and the incredible feeling derived from tackling those obstacles.
  • Find inner strength in your physical strength. Mind and body are more inseparable than we think and tending to the latter can lead to increased confidence and higher energy levels on a psychological side, too.
  • Keep a scrapbook (or a simple collection) of appreciation letters, thank you notes and certificates that remind you how amazing you are. Return to that heartwarming confirmation when you feel like giving up and use it to refill your confidence tank.
  • Use affirmative speaking and make sure your daily talks are filled with “I can do it”, “I will do my best”, “I’ll work as hard as I can”. These phrases will strengthen your inner arsenal with positivity and the kind of can-do attitude that can bring you far
